About

Welcome! We’re glad you found our farm connection site…we’re pretty passionate about sourcing farm-fresh goods ourselves. 😉

We believe that everyone deserves to have food the way nature intended it to be — raised right with high nutrition and excellent overall value to whom it feeds. But raising the food with no one to buy it won’t serve the farmers or keep them in business for long; consumers, in turn, need access to these farms more readily.

That’s where we come in — to bridge the gap (and shrink the steps) between food producers and ready-to-buy food consumers.

It should be quick and simple to find a farm to buy what you need — so we’ve done that heavy lifting for you. In addition, as we grow we’ll offer educational materials to help consumers to understand how foods from small farm foods may differ from commercially-raised products, to understand various raising methods and standards, animal husbandry/welfare topics, and the possible legal barriers that prevent access to certain products or by certain venues.

That’s what makes this site special — it’s built BY farmers, FOR farmers AND consumers.

Our founders used to be just like you, searching for local farms to buy from and constantly turning up empty handed. We’d check out a farm to find it didn’t sell what we were looking for, or we’d find an online site that shipped items but that’s not the same as keeping your purchases local. We know firsthand how cumbersome it can be to search to find “farms near me” on google, only to get quite a few irrelevant map results, and have “sponsored” farms show up (ie they paid to show up at the top even if they’re not relevant to you), and to have to sit and search each farm’s website or social media pages — JUST to figure out if they even sell what you’re looking for. As farmers now, it breaks our heart when new customers find us and express how grateful they are to have found us and how difficult it can be to find other farms!

And honestly, we get it. It’s hard for farmers to maintain a website when they’ve got livestock or gardens to care for, and it’s hard for consumers to shop from those farms when they struggle to even find them in the first place!

That’s where this directory comes in.

No more brain-numbing scrolling through lists of farm names in Google results, clicking on each farm to find out if they’re even local and if they are, what they raise.

No more clunky interfaces where the entire format of the page changes and you can’t even find the egg farm you just clicked on.

No more messaging farms through their social media or other apps to find out if they even raise the meat you’re looking for.

No more sifting through map results of commercial farms, gas stations with “farm” in the name, food distribution centers, and worse.

While we can’t promise this is perfection (some farms just aren’t ready to “get with the times” yet, and that’s ok), what we CAN promise you is this:

We will NEVER decide on our own to remove a farm from this map unless we find out that the farm literally no longer exists.

We will NEVER allow farms to pay for a top spot on the results. You, the consumer, are who this site serves first, and we want you to be able to filter the results by what YOU want to see first, not by what dollars allow you to see first. We keep things simple with homesteader listings, farm business listings, and farmer’s markets. That’s it.

We will NEVER ask you to pay a single penny to use this directory.

We believe that buying from local, small farms places a demand on the global food system to offer better quality products, which all of us deserve

We believe that, together, we can change the world

Thank you for being here, and from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting your local farms.
